Frequently Asked Questions

What type of births do doulas support?

All types! Home birth, hospital birth, birth center birth. Unmedicated, epidural, induction, cesarean. However and wherever you choose to birth, we will support you, encourage, and walk beside you!

How long will you stay at my birth?

As long as it takes! If your birth is 4 hours or 24 hours, I come when you call me and remain with you until after baby arrives.

I'm not sure if I need full doula support. Can I just get private birth, breastfeeding, or newborn care classes?

Of course! Not everyone feels the need for in-person support, but everyone benefits from education and understanding all the options out there. Private classes are held virtually or in your home when it’s convenient for you.

I can't pay the full contract fee up front. Do you accept payment plans?

Yes! We require a non refundable retainer of $300 for birth support, and just ask that you finish paying the balance by 36 weeks of pregnancy. For postpartum support totaling more than 6 hours, a retainer of half the contracted amount is due up front, and the remaining hours are billed weekly. We also provide gift options for your family and friends to contribute toward your doula support if they wish!

What about CPR/First Aid certification?

I am certified in both pediatric and adult CPR/First Aid as well as Neonatal Pulmonary Resuscitation (NRP) in the event of an emergency situation.
